Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Easter is such a fun day filled with colours! What's Easter without Easter eggs? Here's my Easter egg nailart with a Easter bunny on my ring finger. What do you have on your nails on this day?

The products I used are Nature Republic GR603 (Mint Green), YL701 (Yellow), PP402 (Purple), Faceshop BL601 (Light Blue) and Essie French Affair (Pink).

Neon Chicks

This nailart design was inspired by a pair of slippers I saw at the departmental store. I though it would look cute on the nails! The original colour of the chick is pink but I decided to change it to this gorgeous neon orange colour Flip Flop Fantasy by China Glaze. I'll probably review about this colour in another post. =D

Tulips Nail

This nailart feels so SPRING! Do you know tulips are my favourite flower? My bf always got that for me on our anniversary.

This is also for Instagram #nailartmar challenge, Floral. I didn't want to do roses again cuz I just did for the vintage theme so I did tulips! I use Essence Modern Romance as my base colour, Faceshop PP402 for the tulips, Faceshop GR502 & Essence Exits On Your Right for the leaves.

Tape Mani

It's so fun creating manicures using striping tapes! There are many types of tape mani around and I can't wait to try them out. I painted my nails four vertical stripes of different colours then I place the striping tape over them once they are dry and paint over another colour. After that, peel of the tape! That's it! You can definitely create many different lines or patterns instead of the three stripes that I did.

Here's the nail polishes I used :
Base stripes -  Faceshop GR502, OPI Dim Sum Plum, Faceshop BL602 & Essence Destination Sunshine
Top colours - Nature Republic BK004 & Sally Hansen Celeb City

Gold Sparkles

I used China Glaze Passion For Petals as the base colour and top it with Color Combos glitter in CTW 504. I'm not sure if you guys heard of Color Combos because I've never heard it from anyone before. I found it at SaSa (beauty supply store) and they have many pretty colours at affordable prices. This glitter polish has tiny gold glitters and also bigger chunkier uneven gliiters. The problem is that I have to manually place the chunky glitters in place and it's also pretty hard to get the chunky glitters out of the bottle. Otherwise I think it's pretty cool! Not sure if I like this colour combinations but I think it will look great on a darker base.

Revlon Whimsical

When I first saw this polish I was like, "I GOTTA HAVE THIS!". It's a sheer light blue jelly base with pink & light blue hex glitter and tiny round glitters.

I went home and try it out immediately but OMG I don't like it. I put three coats on and I still don't like it because the colour looked like its faded and dirty. I didn't even want to take a photo of it. Then I try it on top of OPI Mermaid's Tears and it's pretty!!! I had two coats of Mermaid's Tears and two coats of Whimsical on my nails. The bad part is that it's pretty hard to get the hex glitters in place so I have to place it to where I want it to be. Other than that, I'd say its a pretty colour to layer on top of opaque polish.

Black & Blue Argyle

I really like this Argyle pattern nailart! They kinda reminded me of socks and sweaters. It was pretty time consuming to do having to make sure the checks are even.  Anyway, I used both Faceshop nail polishes in BK901 and BL602, and Sally Hansen Celeb City for the stripes.

22 March 2013

China Glaze Passion For Petals

This awesome colour is from the China Glaze Spring 2013 Avant Garden Collection. It's a bright pink creme with a little hint of dark coral and mauve. In some angles it does look a little red. It doesn't look that bright on bottle as compared to on the nails. It's a pretty colour for Spring and Summer. I had two coats on but this polish works well with one coat too. Formula is very pigmented, slighty on the thicker side just like the typical China Glaze nail polishes, and it is not streaky at all.

Rilakkuma Nails

I attempted to do Rilakkuma nails for the first time. Rilakkuma is a popular bear character from Japan. Well, I have to say it's a fail. :( My Rilakkuma doesn't look like one at all! But at least, it looked like a bear (I hope). Anyway I think its still pretty cute. =D

I used Essence Destination Sunshine as the base colour and painted the bear with acrylic paints.

Vintage roses

It's vintage again! Who don't love vintage nails?! :D Anyway, this is for day 19 of #nailartmar challenge. I've been drawing my roses this way nowadays and I quite like it!

I used OPI Pink Friday as my base colour.

17 March 2013

St. Patrick's Day Nails

It's St. Patrick's Day today! This day is celebrated mostly by the Irish hence the Ireland flag! You can't miss out shamrock on this day too!

This is what I used:
Flag - OPI Mermaid's Tears, China Glaze White on White and China Glaze Papaya Punch.
Index & Pinky - Essence Exits on Your Right (chevron tip), OPI Mermaid's Tears (Shamrock), Sally Hansen Golden-I and China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Triangle Trios

This triangle trios nailart is cool and easy to do. Had a hard time picking out colour combinations but I settled with these - OPI Suzi's Hungary Again! as base colour, China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and Essence L.O.L for the triangles.

Rainbow nails

OMG I can't hide my excitement after I finished this nail art! I think it's really cute! Hahaha. Anyway, I used 5 colours to do the rainbow and the gradients. I used OPI Girls Just Want To Play, Essence Destination Sunshine, Faceshop GR502, Faceshop BL602 and Étude House PP402. The base colour for my middle finger is Faceshop BL601. I topped them off with China Glaze Fairy Dust & Seche Vite top coat.

13 March 2013

Luck Nails

So today's challenge is Luck. When I think of luck, I think of four leave clover. So here's my four leave clover nailart. I used Essence Exits on Your Right as my base colour and Face Shop GR502 for the clover and polka dots. Have a lucky day!

OPI Suzi's Hungary Again!

This awesome colour is from the Euro Centrale Collection 2013. It's a bright pink with a hint of coral in it. The actual colour can't really show on camera but I took a few swatches to show you the colour. This colour really makes me happy! By the way, I had three coats on with Seche Vite top coat. It was pretty streaky on the first two coats and a third will be perfect. The formula is thin so you can definitely built it up.

I think this picture shows the most true colour of Suzi's Hungary Again!.

Color Block Nails

Today's #nailartmar challenge is color block so here my nailart. I used China Glaze Something Sweet, High Hopes and Étude House's purple.

Then I added some dots to it. Which one do you think is nicer?

Gradient glitter on pink

Well first of all, Happy International Women's Day to all ladies out there! So I did pink nails on this day dedicated to us ladies. Pink is our colour!

This simple nailart is great for any occasion and really easy to do!
Anyways, have a great weekend ahead! ❤

Gradient Leopard

Gradient nails are so popular these days and I find them really nice to look at! Have to admit I hated the cleaning part of doing gradient nails but its pretty easy to do. I used OPI Hot & Spicy and China Glaze Peachy Keen to make my gradients. I think it looks pretty on its own but I can't help but added some nailart to it, so there's the leopard prints.

This is how they look on its own. Left is with top coat, right is with glitter polish.

Essence Nail Polish

I posted my Essence nail polish haul on Instagram two days ago and asked if you guys want to see the swatches and so here are the swatches! It's my first time doing a batch of nail polish swatches and oh man, it really takes time! Putting on the polishes didn't take alot of time but it's photo taking that took the most time! Nonetheless, I had a great time!

I initially went to Watsons wanting to get the new "Ready for Boarding" collection but I ended up with other Essence Colour & Go polishes as well! Problems of a nail polish addict. Haha.

There are 6 nail polishes in the "Ready for Boarding" collection - 5 colour polishes and 1 peel of base coat which is think is the highlight of this collection. The colours that I got are Exit on Your Right, Via Airmail and Destination Sunshine.

4 March 2013

Paris Affair

Happy Monday! Well... let's fight the Monday blues away with nailart! Paris Eiffel Tower on baby pink, don't you think it's sweet? One of my fave nailart! :D
Also one of my #nailartmar challenge. Have a great week ahead!

How time flies, it's March already! I'd decided to join in the March nailart challenge in Instagram (I missed the Feb one cuz I'm busy). You can check out this challenge using #nailartmar in Instagram. Today's theme is "Chevron" and here are my chevron nails. I used China Glaze's "For Audrey" as my base colour.
